Tamsyn is a fully registered osteopath with 7 years experience treating patients in clinic, and also a lecturer in Osteopathy. She graduated from the European School of Osteopathy in 2013 gaining a 1st in the integrated Masters course in Osteopathy (M.Ost, DO), also trained in Western Medical Acupuncture which she can use during osteopathy appointments at no extra cost.

As well as working as an osteopath, she researches and lectures at an osteopathic university, and works for the General Osteopathic Council at the heart of the Osteopathic profession in London.

Emphasis on treating the source of the problem rather than just the symptoms & getting you back to good health as quickly as possible

Professional, caring & holistic approach

Uses up to date research & highly trained sense of touch combined to enable you to get the most from your treatment

Tamsyn runs her Osteopathic practices in Faversham, and at 16 Church Street, Folkestone. For more information on availability and prices, please visit the Clinics and Prices page

Tamsyn offers professional osteopathic treatments in a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, placing emphasis on working with you as an individual, so you get as much as possible from your treatments. Alongside being clinically trained to diagnose and treat many conditions such as low back pain, sciatica, headaches, neck pain and shoulder problems (see conditions page for full list), she also incorporates relaxation techniques to help manage anxiety or stress – related tensions that feed into the more everyday problems.

To further her clinical practice, Tamsyn has undergone training in Mindfulness, Counselling and Psychotherapy, so is comfortable speaking about all aspects of life too.

Cranial Osteopathy appointments for both adults and children are also available. Tamsyn assisted in lecturing in cranial osteopathy from 2013-2015 at the European School of Osteopathy. This form of gentle treatment is helpful for people who react too strongly from other treatments, or suffer with inflammatory conditions, anxiety or general tension. Read more about cranial osteopathy here.

She enjoys informing patients about their problem, ensuring every patient understands and learns from the treatments how best to manage their condition outside of the clinic room. She uses a variety of techniques during treatments, informed by the most up to date research and centred around getting to the cause of your particular problem. She will work with you to decide what is best to get you feeling better as quickly as possible.

INVOLVEMENT IN OSTEOPATHIC REGULATION

She has furthered her osteopathy career since graduating, working for the General Osteopathic Council to help with the regulation of osteopaths. This involves sitting on the Investigating Committee, where cases of malpractice are considered. This work is fundamental in protecting patients from unprofessional conduct, and as such, a thorough knowledge of what is expected from an osteopath in practice is standard in this role.

EDUCATION AND RESEARCH

She is also involved in Osteopathic education, working at the European School of Osteopathy as a lecturer in Psychology and research, and previously in Clinical Examination. She is also a researcher, having previously published an article about osteopathic techniques in July 2016. Full text of the paper is available here

Implementing findings from her research into clinical practice and lecturing students in psychology in osteopathic practice ensures Tamsyn is always up to date with the most effective and efficient ways to help you feel better.
